Set dancing classes in:

Ballinafad Community Centre
Ballinafad, Boyle, Co. Sligo
Thursdays 8pm - 10 pm

Next class: Thu 12th Sep 2013 at 8pm

Starting from scratch, people who never danced before are especially welcome. Great fun and good exercise. Suitable for complete beginners, partner not required. No need to book, just come along, admission 6 euro.

If you need more information before deciding on whether or not to come along, you might like to check out the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page first and then use "Back" to come back to here.

The most common reaction of people who try set dancing for the first time is "it's really great fun, I wish I had found out about this years ago!". Why not give it a try, it could well be the start of a new and very enjoyable lifelong pastime!

Class Outline:

The class is primarily about dancing for enjoyment in a friendly, sociable environment. The aim is to teach the steps, figures and timing for the popular sets, such that dancers who attend regularly will be able to enjoy dancing a set, without calling.

While the figures, steps and timing of the popular sets will be explained and practised, we don't take it too seriously - sometimes it's even more fun when things go astray! You don't need a partner, the majority of people come along on their own. One thing for sure is that you will be made welcome, we are all delighted to see new people coming through the door for the first time, whether they are men on their own, women on their own, or couples. Above all else, the primary objective is to have fun.
